It had been a pretty rough day for Story. Her roommate had move out, her boyfriend of 2 years had left her, for her best friend of all people, and her father was sick. She had just returned from the Hospital to visit her father and needed to take a break from the busy life in downtown San Francisco. She headed to the park that was once beautiful and full of life hoping to get back a sense of being.
She sat down on a stone bench that was mostly ruins now. She leaned over and picked up a piece of rubble and cradled it in her hands. She tried to remember when the trees were full of leave and the grass grew green. Story allowed herself to get carried away with these thoughts.

Junior was in the park that day. A dark day, like every other day in San Fransisco. He remembered when he used to be alive here. That was a decase ago, so much had changed in that time. The park for example, it was in complete ruins now, when it used to be so beautiful and lively. Junior was walking along the old pathway, bored as he usually was, and noticed someone sitting on a bench. He immeadeatly thought it was a demon and was ready to attack. But noticed that it was a young girl. He walked up to her.
"Hello there" Junior said. "You alrite?"

Story brought her hands up in defense, dropping the stone in the process. She went to freeze her intruder on instinct but noticed he wouldn't freeze. That could mean only one thing, he was good. She gave a sigh of relief and let her hands fall to her lap.
She gave a small smile, but a smile none the less, "Yeah, I'll be fine. Just a normal day in this hell hole," she said kicking a stone and watching it bounce off a tree.

He noticed the girl tried to attack him with a rock, then began to wave her hands at him. He had no idea what she was doing, she must have been trying to use her powers. He listened to what she had to say and sat on a pile of rubble close by.
"I know, it seems like this place will never by normal again." Junior began to say. "Thats why we were brought here"

Story sighed and brought her knees to her chest. She rested her chin on her left knee and bit her bottom lip. "At least you have a purpose. You're doing good, I'm doing, well, nothing," she said giving a slight laugh.
She brought her legs back down and stared up at a leafless tree, "It's hard to believe this place used to be full of life," she said in a dreamy sort of way.

Junior turned to look at the donw hearted girl. She had just folded herself nto a ball, practically, and she looked as if she was being hypnotised by leaves.
"Don't say that" Junir said. "Yes, I may have a purpose, but everyone has something they do. You could be out their defending the last remaining good in the world"

Story couldn't help but laugh at his statement, "I've tried. I've tried a million times! It's like, when I need my power the most, it quits on me," she said shaking her head slightly. "I just think my powers are affected becuase I'm too worried about my father. He's in the Hospital. I couldn't save him," she said looking at the boy. "A demon attacked my own father and I couldn't save him," she explained, "I'm trying though. I'm good, I know I am, it's just that I lose hope easily, especially when it's like this," she said bending over and picking up a piece of rubble.
She threw the rock at another tree and sighed. She looked at the boy and gave an actual smile, "I'm Story. Story Matthews," she said introducing herself.

"Hey Story" Junior said in reply to the girl. "I'm Henry, but you can call me Junior."
He listened to waht she had said before about her trying her best to help her father but she felt it was her fault. He understood what she felt like, he couldn't get over finding his mother and father and aunts and uncles dead. It was the worst thing ever.
"You should learn to control your powers again" Junior said to her.
